Saturna Island

Saturna Island, nature’s paradise and retirement solitude! Saturna Island is a mountainous island and is the most remote of the Southern Gulf Islands. Its’ rugged landscape presents a challenge to hikers and cyclists. Saturna Island is, to a large extent, an untouched treasure waiting to be seen and explored.

Saturna Island is situated roughly midway between the Lower Mainland of British Columbia and Vancouver Island. Saturna Island is the most easterly of the Southern Gulf Islands located very close to Canada/United States border, and the San Juan Islands.

Saturna Island is lightly populated with roughly 300 permanent residents who appreciate the solitude and seclusion of the island. The rural features of this island and its loveliness make it seem to be in world of its own. The island has many sandy beaches for swimming and relaxation, and kayaking, and canoeing are very popular around this island. The island offers two general stores for groceries and provisions as well as restaurants for enjoyable dining. Saturna Island is fortunate to be graced with a beautiful vineyard that produces popular wines. Like the rest of the islands, bird watching is outstanding on Saturna Island, home to numbers of interesting species.

Please add Saturna Island as a must see on your retirement wish list.
