Saturna Island is lightly populated with roughly 300 permanent residents who appreciate the solitude and seclusion of the island. The rural features of this island and its loveliness make it seem to be in world of its own. The island has many sandy beaches for swimming and relaxation, and kayaking, and canoeing are very popular around this island. The island offers two general stores for groceries and provisions as well as restaurants for enjoyable dining. Saturna Island is fortunate to be graced with a beautiful vineyard that produces popular wines. Like the rest of the islands, bird watching is outstanding on Saturna Island, home to numbers of interesting species.
