Galiano Island, the place for that long-awaited celebration of your life, retirement! The silence and beauty of this island compliments its reputation for hospitality and friendliness. Galiano Island is the ultimate place to watch a sunset over the ocean while enjoying the sights and sounds of the west coast.

Galiano Island is the second largest of the Southern Gulf Islands, located between Vancouver Island and the lower mainland of British Columbia, on the west side of the Strait of Georgia. (The region from Vancouver south to the U.S. border, British Columbia is commonly referred to as the lower mainland.)

Galiano, the island for those who seek peace and calm, is home to approximately 1,200 residents. Inspired by the island’s natural beauty, Galiano has a significant population of artists and hosts a thriving artistic community. Galiano Island, like all of the Gulf Islands, is known for the work of its’ artists and craftspeople, and offers art galleries, shops, restaurants, inns, small resorts, a spa and a golf course.

The island’s impressive coastline features cliffs, sheltered bays and remarkable sandstone formations. Here, sheltered waters make for ideal sailing, scuba diving, and fishing. Galiano’s still and lazy beaches summon you to relax, swim, sunbath, and rediscover building sandcastles. Kayaking is a favorite activity and it is not unusual to paddle within meters of seals and otters. For those who enjoying hiking, the highest point is Mount Galiano. A climb to the top will present you with unbelievable views. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars.
